Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reaffirmed India’s commitment to achieving green development and net-zero targets. He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the fourth RE Invest Global Renewable Energy Meet. Prime Minister Modi also dedicated to the nation the PM Suryaghar Muft Bijali Yojana at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar today. The Prime Minister said that, despite being a developing country, India has achieved its climate commitments set in Paris nine years ahead of the target. He said India has made its green transition a people’s movement. He added, that with PM Suryaghar Muft Bijali Yojana, every home in India is set to become a power producer. Over One crore people have registered for the PM Suryaghar Muft Bijali Yojana and solar rooftops have been installed more than 3 lakh houses under the scheme. He also stressed on the ample job and skill opportunities lying in the renewable energy sector for youths. Mr. Modi said that the pro-climate principle is a core part of India’s commitment, which includes promoting Mission LIFE and a circular economy approach. He also unveiled the plans of his government to develop 17 cities in the country as Solar cities. The Prime Minister also highlighted his government’s achievements in various clean energy production areas, including green hydrogen, over the past 10 years. The Prime Minister urged all the stakeholders and global representatives to invest in India’s ever emerging green energy sector. Addressing the gathering, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy Minister Pralhad Joshi highlighted India’s significant strike in the clean energy sector. He said India has recorded 86 percent growth in the renewable energy sector. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also reiterated the government of state government to make Gujarat a leader in the renewable energy sector. The 4th RE-INVEST Global Renewable Energy Meet & Expo has been organized by the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). The meet will highlight India’s impressive progress in renewable energy manufacturing and deployment. The three-day event will feature over 40 sessions and specialised discussions on innovative financing, green hydrogen, and future energy solutions. Around 10,000 delegates from 140 countries are taking part in the event. Earlier today, the Prime Minister interacted with the beneficiaries of PM Suryghar Muft Bijali Yojana in Gandhinagar.
